Otters In Bishan Park!

Last afternoon, we decided to head to the Bishan Park to take a look at the otters. Here's some information about these little animals: "Otters are semi-aquatic fish-eating mammal of the weasel family, with an elongated body, dense fur, and webbed feet. Otters are active hunters, chasing prey in the water or searching the beds of rivers, lakes or the seas. Most species live beside water, but river otters usually enter it only to hunt or travel, otherwise spending much of their time on land to avoid their fur becoming waterlogged. Otters are playful animals and appear to engage in various behaviors for sheer enjoyment, such as making waterslides and then sliding on them into the water. They may also find and play with small stones."

At first, we weren't able to see the otters and felt kinda disappointed... But after 30  minutes or so, they emerged from their shelter/home! :) We felt so lucky to be able to witness them hunting in the water for their lunch/fishes. Here are some of the photos that I managed to snap that sunny afternoon...

Hello otter! Some of them kept looking at us and our camera :D

Look at how sharp their teeth is!!! All ready to tear huge chunks of meat!
Smelling the fishes?

Hunting for fish...

and the otter managed to get a fish!!!
We could hear the bones of the fish breaking apart and after a few seconds, the otter started munching on the fish repeatedly.

Having his lunch
Someone finally woke up from his afternoon nap :)

Please take note of these points when you encounter an otter!
Last but not least, here's a video of the otter having his lunch which I've recorded. Enjoy!
